Watch
Lets Claude actually watch a video and answer.
Why use Watch?
Ask an assistant about a video and it will usually answer from the title and the description, because it never watched anything. This one does. It downloads the file, saves still pictures from across its length, and turns the speech into written text, then answers from those two things together. Videos that already carry subtitles use them straight away. The rest are transcribed on your own computer, so there is no account to open, no key to paste in, and no fee per minute.
When should you use Watch?
Any time the answer sits inside a video rather than a page: a product demo you want the gist of, an hour long talk you cannot sit through, a specific moment you need found and described. It is also the quickest way to get the steps out of a tutorial that nobody ever wrote down.
How do you install and use Watch?
- Type the command below inside Claude Code. It adds the catalogue the tool lives in.
- Then install the tool itself by typing /plugin install watch@claude-video
- Type /watch, paste a video link, and ask your question. The first run fetches the few pieces it needs, so allow it a minute.
Type inside Claude Code
